    Tingkatan 5, or Form 5, is the most important year in a secondary school student’s life. The SPM examinations is held for Form 5 students to test their knowledge based on the stream they chose the year before.     PT3, or Form 3, is the most important year in the lower secondary level. It is the year of a very important government examination, called PT3, which determines which academic stream is most suitable for each student. As usual, the important subjects are continued from the Form 1 and Form 2 syllabi, that is Maths, Science, English, Bahasa Melayu, History and Geography.

    In Tingkatan 2, or Form 2, students continue with their Tingkatan 1 subjects at a slightly higher level. Form 2 is the year to start studying smart and dividing time between subjects to prepare for PT3, a government exam for Form 3 students.     Tingkatan 1 or Form 1 is the first year of secondary school in Malaysia. Students are introduced to new subjects such as History, Geography and Living Skills at this level. The core subjects for Form 1 students include the languages, Maths, Science, History and Geography.

    Tahun 6 or Standard 6 is the sixth year of Malaysia’s primary schooling system. It is also the last year of Tahap 2 or Level 2, indicating the end of primary school education.
